Im Hinblick auf die Generalversammlung von Glencore vom 29. April 2021 haben wir diese Petition lanciert. Ivan Glasenberg übergibt den Konzern an seinen Nachfolger Gary Nagle. Dieser Generationswechsel lässt auf einige Veränderungen im Verhalten des Unternehmens hoffen. Glencore ist nach wie vor verantwortlich für Umweltschäden, Menschen- und Arbeitsrechtsverletzungen und die Zerstörung von Lebensgrundlagen. Wasser und Luft werden in der Demokratischen Republik Kongo (DRC), Sambia, Tschad, Peru und Kolumbien verschmutzt, Lebensgrundlagen werden in Peru, Kolumbien und Bolivien zerstört und Menschenrechte im Kongo, Peru und Kolumbien verletzt. Das sind einige Beispiele unter vielen mehr. Aus diesem Grund fordern wir echte Veränderungen im Verhalten des Unternehmens bezüglich seiner Menschenrechtspolitik, Transparenz und Konsultation, eine strenge Umweltschutzpolitik und eine faire Beschäftigungs- und Gewerkschaftspolitik. Um dieser Petition Nachdruck zu verleihen, sammeln wir so viele Unterschriften wie möglich von Organisationen und Einzelpersonen.

Wir, die unterzeichnenden Organisationen und Einzelpersonen, stellen die folgenden Forderungen an Glencore.
Hauptforderungen
- Menschenrechtspolitik: Offenlegung aller menschenrechtlicher Folgeabschätzungen und der darauf basierenden Aktionsplänen sowie der menschenrechtlichen Ausgangslage und der Kriterien zur Messung von Verbesserungen
- Transparenz über Strategien, Pläne und Auswirkungen auf benachbarte und betroffene Gemeinschaften, Stakeholder und Arbeiter*innen sowie direkter und offener Austausch mit den Gemeinschaften über ihre Bedürfnisse und Anliegen
- Strenge Umweltschutzrichtlinien und -massnahmen, Staubkontrollen, effizientes Wassermanagement, einschliesslich des Ausschlusses von Abwassereinleitungen in Flüsse und umliegende Gebiete, keine Flussumleitungen, keine Verschmutzung und kein Austrocknen von Wasserquellen
- Durchsetzung von Umweltkontrollen, um die fortlaufende Verschmutzung von Luft und Boden zu stoppen, und angemessene Sanierung von schädlichen Auswirkungen
- Umsetzung menschenzentrierter Strategien, um unfreiwillige Umsiedlungen und Vertreibungen ganzer Gemeinden für den Ausbau zu stoppen
- Echte Prozesse der freien, vorherigen und informierten Zustimmung bei allen Bergbauprojekten, die indigene Gemeinschaften betreffen, die transparente und wahrheitsgemässe Informationen über alle Auswirkungen gewähren und die Entscheidungen der betroffenen Gemeinschaften vollständig respektieren
- Faire, nicht-diskriminierende, nicht-prekäre und sichere Arbeitsbedingungen, einschliesslich bessere Löhne, Verschärfung der Sicherheitsmassnahmen, Stärkung der Rechte der Gewerkschaften und Verbesserung der gesundheitlichen und sozialen Leistungen

Petition launched at the Glencore 2021 AGM on 29th of April 2021
Urgent need for profound changes in the behaviour of Glencore on human rights and environmental impacts
In view of the Glencore AGM on 29th of April 2021, we have launched this petition. Ivan Glasenberg is handing over the company to his successor Garry Nagle. This generational change may give hope for some changes in the company's behaviour. Glencore is still responsible for environmental damage, human and worker rights violations and destruction of livelihoods. Water and air are polluted in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, Chad, Peru and Colombia, livelihoods are destroyed in Peru, Colombia and Bolivia and human rights violated in Congo, Peru and Colombia, among others. For this reason, we ask for real changes in the company’s behaviour in human rights policies, transparency and consultation, stringent environmental protection policies and fair employment and labour union policies. To give strength to this petition, we are trying to collect as many signatures from organizations and individuals as possible.
We, the undersigned organisations and individuals, make the following demands of Glencore.
Main demands
- Human Rights Policy: Disclosure of all Human Rights Impact Assessments and subsequent Action Plans, as well as social baseline and criteria to measure improvements
- Transparency about policies, plans and impacts on neighbouring and affected communities, stakeholders and workers as well as direct and open engagement with communities about their needs and concerns
- Stringent environmental protection policies and measures, dust control, efficient water management including no wastewater effluents to rivers and surrounding lands, no river diversions, no pollution and no drying out of water sources
- Implementation of environmental controls to stop ongoing pollution of air and soil, and appropriate remediation of adverse impacts
- Implementation of human-centric policies to stop involuntary resettlements and displacements of entire communities for development
- Real processes of Free Prior and Informed Consent in all mining projects that affect indigenous and tribal people, granting transparent and truthful information about all impacts and respecting fully the decisions of the affected communities
- Employment conditions that are fair, non-discriminatory, non-precarious and safe, including better wages, tightening of safety measures, strengthening of unions' rights, and improvement of health-related and social benefits
- Giving priority to remedy, truth finding and reparations to the communities affected by environmental damages and gross human rights violations

Pétition lancée à l'occasion de l'AGO de Glencore du 29 avril 2021
Glencore doit incessamment modifier son comportement en matière de droits humains et d'impacts environnementaux.
Nous lançons cette pétition en vue de l'assemblée générale des actionnaires de Glencore, assemblée qui se tiendra le 29 avril 2021. A cette occasion Ivan Glasenberg transmettra la direction de l'entreprise à son successeur Gary Nagle. Ce changement de génération peut laisser présager de changements dans le comportement de l'entreprise. Glencore a été jusqu’ici responsable de dommages environnementaux, de violations des droits humains et des droits des travailleurs, ainsi que de la destruction de moyens de subsistance pour de nombreuses populations. L'eau et l'air sont pollués en République démocratique du Congo (RDC), en Zambie, au Tchad, au Pérou et en Colombie, les moyens de subsistance sont anéantis au Pérou, en Colombie et en Bolivie et les droits humains sont violés, entre autres, au Congo, au Pérou et en Colombie. C'est pourquoi nous demandons de réels changements dans le comportement de l'entreprise en matière de politiques de droits humains, de transparence et de consultation des populations concernées, de politiques exigeantes en matière de protection de l'environnement, de politiques d'emploi équitables et de respect des syndicats. Pour donner la force nécessaire à cette pétition, nous essayons de recueillir le plus grand nombre possible de signatures de particuliers et d'organisations.
Nous soussignés, organisations et particuliers, formulons envers Glencore les revendications suivantes.
Principales revendications
- Politique des droits humains : publication de toutes les évaluations d'impact sur les droits humains et des plans d'action qui en découlent, ainsi que des références sociales et des critères permettant de mesurer les améliorations.
- Transparence quant aux politiques, plans et impacts relatifs aux communautés affectées, aux parties prenantes et aux travailleurs, ainsi qu'engagement direct et ouvert avec les communautés au sujet de leurs besoins et leurs préoccupations.
- Politiques et mesures strictes de protection de l'environnement, contrôle de la poussière, gestion efficace de l'eau, y compris retenues empêchant les eaux usées de se déverser dans les rivières et sur les rives, défense de détourner les rivières, de produire de la pollution et d’assécher les sources d’eau.
- Mise en œuvre de contrôles environnementaux pour mettre fin à la pollution permanente de l'air et du sol, ainsi que remédiation appropriée des impacts négatifs.
- Mise en œuvre de politiques centrées sur l'humain, afin d’éviter les déplacements de communautés entières contre leur volonté.
- Mise en œuvre de véritables processus de concertation préalable, libre et éclairée, dans tous les projets miniers qui affectent les populations indigènes ou tribales, en fournissant des informations transparentes et objectives sur tous les impacts et en respectant pleinement les décisions des communautés affectées.
- Conditions de travail équitables, non discriminatoires, non précaires, avec de meilleurs salaires, un renforcement des mesures de sécurité, un renforcement des droits syndicaux et une amélioration des prestations sociales et de santé.
- Priorité aux recours, à la recherche de la vérité et aux réparations pour les dommages environnementaux et les violations flagrantes des droits humains subis par les communautés.

Petición lanzada en ocasión de la Asamblea General de Glencore del 29 de abril de 2021
Urgente necesidad de cambios profundos en el comportamiento de Glencore en materia de derechos humanos e impactos ambientales
Con motivo de la Junta General de Accionistas de Glencore del 29 de abril del 2021, hemos lanzado esta petición. Ivan Glasenberg entregará la dirección de la empresa a su sucesor, Gary Nagle. Este cambio generacional podría significar el comienzo de cambios en el comportamiento de la empresa. Glencore sigue siendo responsable de daños medioambientales, violaciones a los derechos humanos y laborales, además de la destrucción de hábitats naturales. En diversos países, como la República Democrática del Congo (RDC), Zambia, Chad, Perú y Colombia, el agua y el aire son contaminados; se destruyen los medios de subsistencia en Perú, Colombia y Bolivia; además se violan los derechos humanos en el Congo, Perú y Colombia, entre otros países. Por ello, pedimos cambios reales en el comportamiento de la empresa y en sus políticas sobre derechos humanos, transparencia y consulta, además pedimos políticas estrictas de protección del medio ambiente, y condiciones de empleo justas y derechos sindicales íntegras. Para fortalecer las demandas de esta petición, aspiramos recoger el mayor número de firmas de organizaciones y particulares posible.
Las organizaciones y personas firmantes, presentamos las siguientes demandas a Glencore:
Demandas principales
- Política de derechos humanos: divulgación de todas las evaluaciones de impacto en los derechos humanos y de los planes de acción subsiguientes, así como de la línea de base social y de los criterios para medir las mejoras
- Transparencia sobre las políticas, los planes y los impactos en las comunidades vecinas y afectadas, los actores claves, y en las y los trabajadores, así como un diálogo directo y abierto con las comunidades sobre sus necesidades y preocupaciones
- Políticas y medidas estrictas de protección del medio ambiente, control del polvo, gestión eficiente de los recursos hídricos, incluida la no emisión de aguas residuales a los ríos y terrenos circundantes, la no desviación de los ríos, la no contaminación y la no desecación de las fuentes de agua
- Aplicación de controles medioambientales para detener la contaminación actual del aire y el suelo, y la reparación adecuada de los impactos adversos
- Aplicación de políticas centradas en el ser humano para detener los reasentamientos involuntarios y los desplazamientos de comunidades enteras en nombre del desarrollo
- Procesos reales de Consentimiento Libre, Previo e Informado en todos los proyectos mineros que afecten a pueblos indígenas y tribales, otorgando información transparente y veraz sobre todos los impactos y respetando plenamente las decisiones de las comunidades afectadas
- Condiciones de empleo justas, no discriminatorias, no precarias y seguras, incluyendo salarios más altos y justos, refuerzo de las medidas de seguridad, fortalecimiento de los derechos sindicales y mejora de las prestaciones sociales y de salud
- Dar prioridad a la reparación, a la búsqueda de la verdad y al resarcimiento de las comunidades afectadas por los daños medioambientales y las graves violaciones de los derechos humanos.
